Add a Number¶
Numbers are added by the AstraDial team. There is no self-service form — each number has to be routed and tested.
A complete request is usually live the same working day.
What to put in the email¶
Subject: Add phone number — <your organisation>
Organisation: <your organisation name>
Number(s) to add: <full number, with country code>
Where it comes from: <our carrier trunk / our PBX / our GSM gateway / new number needed>
Route calls to: <person, team, or menu>
If busy: <voicemail / another number / keep ringing>
Out of hours: <voicemail / another number / just ring>
Caller ID for outgoing calls from this number: <yes, use this number / no>
Needed by: <date>
The more of this you fill in, the fewer questions come back.
The kinds of request we handle¶
| What you want | What to tell us | Typical time |
|---|---|---|
| Route an existing number to AstraDial | The number, and which of your equipment it arrives on | Same working day |
| A brand-new number | Which city or area code you want, and how many | A few working days — the carrier allocates it |
| Change where a number rings | The number, and the new destination | Same working day |
| Use a number as your outgoing caller ID | The number, and which users should send from it | Same working day |
| Stop using a number | The number, and the date to stop | Same working day |
What happens next¶
- We confirm we have what we need, usually within a working day.
- We add and route the number, and set the caller ID if you asked for it.
- We test it with you — a call in, and a call out if it carries your caller ID.
- We confirm it is live. It appears in your call logs from that moment.
